Meet Alec & Kat

Hi! We're Alec & Kat, the husband-and-wife duo behind Sensitively Sweet Bakery and The Safe Spoon.

What started as a personal journey to find food we could safely eat quickly became a mission to create something bigger. After Kat was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and Alec developed Alpha-Gal Syndrome, we experienced firsthand how difficult (and often isolating) it can be to eat away from home. We found ourselves reading every ingredient label, asking endless questions, and too often leaving restaurants hungry or disappointed.

We knew there had to be a better way.

So in 2022, Kat started baking from our home kitchen with one goal: to create delicious food that people with dietary restrictions could trust. That little dream grew into Sensitively Sweet Bakery and, now, The Safe Spoon Café, a dedicated allergen-free space where everyone can gather around the table without fear.

We believe God called us to create more than a restaurant. Our mission is to love and serve others through genuine hospitality, honest ingredients, and a place where everyone can gather around the table without fear. Our prayer is that every guest who walks through our doors finds comfort, community, and a reminder that they are deeply loved.

We've been the people reading every ingredient label and asking every question. That's why we built the place we were searching for.
